EastEnders’ abusive husband Gray will take his appalling treatment of wife Chantelle to a horrifying extreme on Friday when he kills her.
Viewers of the BBC soap have been left shaken over the past year as Gray’s abuse of Chantelle has intensified.
The storyline and the whole show was put on hold earlier this year due to the coronavirus outbreak but, as it returned earlier this month, it looked like Chantelle might finally get away from him.
Unfortunately that doesn’t happen and, in traumatic scenes, that will bring this week’s new episodes to a close, Gray will murder Chantelle as she attempts to make one final escape from her controlling husband.
EastEnders fans have been full of praise for Jessica Plummer who plays Chantelle and Toby Alexander-Smith in the role of villainous Gray.
Speaking about the domestic abuse storyline in Albert Square, he said: “We hope that Chantelle’s story gives people the courage to speak out before it’s too late and to know that there are services out there to help.
“Working with Women’s Aid and Refuge has been invaluable in understanding the mindset of an abuser and the awful realities of abusive relationships.
