TV presenter Vernon Kay joined in the debate around Scottish independence as he said living in the nation at the moment must be “insane”. Boris Johnson has insisted a referendum on Scottish independence is a “once in a generation” vote and has declined Nicola Sturgeon demands to hold a second one. The 2014 referendum resulted in a 55.3 percent vote against Scotland going alone.
Presenter Jeremy Vine said on his show: “When the Scots voted against, they had been told if you vote for independence you’ll be leaving the EU by accident. They then voted to stay and they were taken out by England.”
Mr Kay said: “It must be like spinning on a dancefloor being Scottish because everything is just swirling around, if you believe in one thing then the other thing happens.
“If you believe in another thing then one thing happens.
“It must be absolutely insane living north of the border, it really must.”
