The Queen is seeking a new neighbour to rent Flitcham Hall, a six-bedroom manor house on her 20,000-acre Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

Less than two miles from Sandringham House, it will be available from next spring for £3,750 a month – but tenants aren’t allowed to have any cats.

The ban, which was first introduced in 2016, is thought to have been brought in after domestic cats killed game birds on the estate that had been reared for Royal shooting parties. Dogs are permitted on ‘a house by house basis’.

The Queen is currently spending a long weekend with Prince Philip at her modest farmhouse on the Norfolk estate after returning to work at Windsor Castle for the past month, according to The Mail on Sunday.

It says: ‘The Sandringham Estate frequently has properties available for rental across 13 villages, from Wolferton across to Bircham.

‘Sandringham’s housing policy is to let properties as a primary residence, prioritising those who live and work locally. Properties are not let on a first come, first served basis, but rather on which prospective tenant is best suited to the property.’

The Sandringham estate has around 150 homes which are rented out, although the majority are small cottages. Pictured, the front of the manor house on the Sandringham estate
