Biden’s ‘sick’ joke: President-elect makes a bizarre quip about ‘developing a mystery disease and resigning’ if he ever argues with Kamala Harris over a ‘moral principle’

      • Biden made the strange quip Thursday while sitting with Harris and CNN’s Jake Tapper, who asked how the two handle disagreements
      • ‘We are simpatico on our philosophy of government and sympatico on how we want to approach these issues that we are facing,’ he said
      • The former vice president said that he told Harris the same line about the disease that he told former president Barack Obama
      • ‘If I reach something where there is a fundamental disagreement that we have based on a moral principle, I’ll develop some disease and say I have to resign,’ he said

President-elect Joe Biden made a peculiar joke about how he would ‘develop some disease’ and say he would ‘resign’ if he and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris had a fundamental disagreement over a ‘moral principle.’

Biden made the strange quip Thursday while sitting with Harris and CNN‘s Jake Tapper, who asked how the two handle disagreements. It was the pair’s first sit-down interview since they were named winners in the 2020 presidential election.

‘We are simpatico on our philosophy of government and sympatico on how we want to approach these issues that we are facing,’ the former vice president explained.

Joe Biden is asked about his disagreements with Kamala Harris on certain issues:

‘When we disagree so far it has been like when Barack and I did, it’s in private she’ll say ‘I think we should do a, b, c and d,” and I’ll say “I like a and I don’t like b and c” and it’s ok.’

‘But like I told Barack, if I reach something where there is a fundamental disagreement that we have based on a moral principle, I’ll develop some disease and say I have to resign.’

Harris just nodded her head slightly as Biden followed the not-so funny joke to commend the former Senator on her work on the Intelligence committee.

'We are simpatico on our philosophy of government and sympatico on how we want to approach these issues that we are facing,' the former vice president explained

‘And we have discussed at length our views on foreign policy, domestic policy, on intelligence,’ he said. ‘The great thing is she has a background on the Senate in intelligence on the Intelligence committee.

‘She has a background in the Senate on a whole range of things that are going to be pertinent to what we have to do. But so much is going to be incoming and it’s a matter of who takes what when.

Biden, 78, wore a slip-on suede shoe on his injured foot and a black dress shoe on his healthy foot. The slip-on was a Men’s Nohea Mesh Slip-O by Olukai and retails for $90.

He suffered small fractures in his right foot over the weekend while playing with his German Shepard, Major. His doctor said he’d have to wear a medical boot for ‘several weeks.’

Biden on Thursday told CNN’s Jake Tapper he got the injury while chasing his dog after getting out of the shower.

‘The little pup dropped the ball in front of me for me to grab the ball … and I grabbed the ball like this, and he ran,’ Biden explained.

‘I’m joking, running after him and grab his tail. And what happened was that he slid on a throw rug. And I tripped on the rug he slid on. That’s what happened. Oh man, that’s not a very exciting story,’ he added.

By Friday, Biden was back in the boot he had been seen in earlier on Tuesday.

President-elect Joe Biden raised his foot to show off the medical boot on Tuesday, the first day he was seen with the boot after getting the injury
