The Playstation 5 has been like gold dust since it was released in the UK in November 2020, with desperate shoppers hoping to get their hands on the in-demand console checking for latest stock updates ever since.
Thanks to the pre-sale the PS5 sold out everywhere in the UK within hours of its release on November 19 and there has been a significant lack of supply ever since.
They just can’t build the consoles quick enough.
But now we are in 2021 fans are hoping there must be light at the end of the tunnel in terms of when the PS5 will be back in stock.
As it is safe to say everyone is fed up of sitting in front of their computer screens refreshing the webpage of their favourite sites with the hope that new stock might become available – only for the “out of stock” sign to constantly appear.
For the fans who have been waiting patiently for the latest PS5 stock updates, there’s good news as a number of stores have come out to say they will be restocking the new console in early 2021, as reported by Berkshire Live.

Here’s the latest update from retailers.
Amazon and Currys PC World
Sadly, Amazon hasn’t provided PS5 fans with an update on when they could get new stock for quite a while. Surely they must have an idea?!
Even Currys PC World, one of the biggest names in technology retail on the British high street, is in the same boat as the other companies – they, too, are without any PS5 consoles.
However, they’ve told customers they’re “working tirelessly to secure more stock” and that they should keep checking the Currys PC World website for news on stock.
Game has given the end of January as the date for shoppers to bookmark, on its website, as that is when it is expecting to get new consoles.
At first, they did say that new PS5 stock would arrive on Christmas Eve, but the expected arrival date has now been extended to the final day of January.
Just like GAME, Smyths Toys is also working hard to make sure it can get new consoles by January 31, so fans of the popular gaming console will need to be patient and wait for a bit longer.
At the moment both the console and the digital console are displaying as “out of stock” on the website with a message saying all stock had been allocated for pre-orders.
A message underneath says the retailer is expecting more stock in January 2021.
Online retailer Very is also without Playstation 5 stock, but has told shoppers to stay alert for updates on when the next batch of PS5s will come arrive.
When you search for PS5 consoles on the website all that displays is a message at the top, which reads: “Unfortunately we have sold out of our PS5 consoles for now. We have more stock coming so keep checking back for our next drop.”
In contrast, rather than leaving customers biting their nails and smashing their keyboards in search of the elusive PS5, Argos made the sensible move to not give an estimated date of when it will start selling the PS5 again – but it is expected to be selling it some time this year.
Towards the end of last year, Argos took to its official Twitter account to give an update to fans, but it wasn’t good news: “We will not have any further stock for the rest of 2020.”
Argos has not listed an update since on when shoppers can expect more stock.
While many would have hoped that the PS5 would have been restocked by now, it does bring comfort to mind knowing that many shops are expecting deliveries of the PS5 console this month – even if there isn’t an exact date as to when the PS5 will go up for sale again.
The only task customers can do at this point is to continue visiting their favourite store’s website for updates.
