The image of the Duke was briefly visible as President Joe Biden greeted Bill and Hillary Clinton at Arlington Cemetery before laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and showed Prince Harry in full military uniform while visiting Virginia in 2013 on an official trip to the US.
The Prince has a firm friendship with Dr Jill Biden after the pair met seven years ago when he was still representing Britain as a prominent Royal.
In September, the Duke and Duchess’ Time 100 video calling on Americans to cast their ballots and ‘reject hate speech’ provoked fury in the White House where it was judged a thinly-veiled swipe at President Trump.
The Duke, 36, and Duchess of Sussex, 39, are currently residing in their $14million mansion in Santa Barbara with eighteen-month-old son Archie, having stepped back from official royal duties in March last year.
Eagle-eyed royal fans were left delighted yesterday after a photograph of Prince Harry, 36, was spotted hanging in the background at Arlington Cemetery, Virginia, during President Joe Biden’s inauguration ceremony
Spotting the image, royal fan account @_Duchess_of_Sussex posted: ‘A picture of Harry from years ago at the Arlington Cemetery was seen in the background of @Potus, Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton today.
‘Harry is truly a military man through and through! So nice seeing him in the background.’
They continued to point out the close friendship between the Duke and the President and his wife, saying: ‘The Bidens have showed so much love for the Sussexes over the years and Kamala most recently.
‘Mr and Dr Biden have been supportive of Harry’s Invictus Games event since the very first one in 2014. After that year, both the Bidens and Obamas continued to have a close connection to the Invictus Games.’

Harry and Jill’s longstanding friendship stretches back to May 2013 when they met at a reception for US and British wounded soldiers in Washington, D.C.
Despite their 33-year age gap, Jill and Harry are said to have bonded over their shared military links; the Duke spent 10 years serving in the British Army, while Jill’s late stepson Beau was a major in the US Military.
They appeared to strike up an immediate bond and Jill travelled solo to London for Harry’s inaugural Invictus Games in 2014, where they were pictured beaming together during several of the events.
The Bidens further attended the Games in Toronto in 2017 – the same year that Harry stepped out in public with Meghan for the first time.
First meeting: Harry and Dr Jill, 69, met in May 2013 at a reception for US and British wounded soldiers in D.C., where they’re said to have bonded over their shared dedication to the military
Guests of honor: Joe and Jill were also present at the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto – however they have not been seen publicly with Prince Harry since then
In the wake of a US election cycle that divided the country in which votes in key swing states went down to the wire, Harry’s relationship with Jill risks fresh accusations of partiality.
Meanwhile experts have commented on Prince Harry and Meghan ’emulating the Obamas’ successful business model.
Speaking to 9Honey last month, royal commentator Katie Nicholl said having a publishing deal is likely to be the next step for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after they recently announced their Archewell Audio podcast with Spotify, which followed a deal with Netflix.
Since leaving the White House in 2016, Barack and Michelle Obama revealed a similar business route – with the couple announcing a Netflix deal with their company Higher Ground Productions and soon after, a Spotify podcast
Harry and Meghan Markle, 39, recorded a video in September urging Americans to vote, and hinted that they support Joe Biden. That video provoked a response from Donald Trump
The latest glimpse of Prince Harry comes as a royal expert said the scheduled 12-month Megxit review has been cancelled, according to one royal expert.
Speaking to True Royalty TV’s Royal Beat, Vanity Fair correspondent Katie Nicholl said that while the Duke, 36, and the Duchess of Sussex, 39, are being observed closely about the commercial deals they’re making, nothing they have done so far suggests the planned one-year review needs to go ahead.
While Covid restrictions have grounded Prince Harry at the $14 million mansion in Los Angeles that the couple share with their 19-month-old son Archie, it’s unlikely there will now even be a face-to-face Zoom call to discuss their commercial affairs with the Queen, Prince Charles and Prince William.
Nicholl told the online broadcaster: ‘My understanding from the Sussexes camp is that there has been communication with the Queen, Prince Charles and with William as well. The general feeling is that this [current situation] is working.’
