Covid-19 has changed how and when we can visit hospitals and care homes.
Northern Ireland has faced a raft of new coronavirus restrictions since September, including the current four-week circuit breaker.
The Department of Health has released an easy step-by-step guide which lays out the latest regulations for seeing our loved ones.
These rules can change if Covid gets worse, or better.
Can I visit hospitals and care homes at the moment?
Yes, you can – but some things have changed to help keep everyone safe.
You can only visit with an appointment.
Virtual visits are safest
The safest way to speak to someone in a hospital or a care home is by phone. You can also make video calls on the internet.
When can’t you visit?
No one should visit a hospital or care home if they are ill or have Covid-19 symptoms.
You may have Covid-19 if you:
Have a high temperature
Have a new cough where you keep coughing a lot
Can’t smell or taste things like before
Try not to visit…
