SCOTS have been battered with heavy rain – with landslides and flooding causing travel chaos.
The country is in the grip of extreme weather, with temperatures plummeting and THUNDERSNOW throughout the night.
In the Highlands cops reported that a busy road had been shut off after a treacherous landslip.
The A831 at Glassburn was blocked off by debris and fallen trees.
A spokesperson said: “Please be aware that there is a landslide on the A831 at Glassburn North of Cannich.
“The road is not passable.

“The roads department at Highland Council are attending as soon as they can to clear.”
Meanwhile flooding was causing chaos on the railway network.
Services running through Livingston North and Hartwood were affetced by water on the tracks first thing this morning.
A spokesperson for Network Rail said: “At Livingston North, the flood water is currently 8 inches above the top of the rails.
“We’ve got pumps running to clear the water, but it’s taking a long time for it to recede.”

Loud “explosions” could be heard across the city as Met Office officials placed much of the east coast on yellow alert overnight.
