Though the pandemic has put a stop to royal appearances in real life, it hasn’t stopped Kate Middleton from paying tribute to and speaking with members of the public – albeit over Zoom.
That in mind, we’re still able to obsess over every tweak she makes to her royal mane (to catch you up, she recently ditched her highlights after spending the summer with ultra beachy hair).
And this time, she’s really turned a corner and opting for what looks like super-straightened noughties hair.
In her most recent interview – released via the @KensingtonRoyal Instagram account – Kate can be seen chatting with NHS nurses and thanking them for their hard work and sacrifices during the pandemic.
Here’s what she had to say on the matter:
“The amazing things that nurses are doing up and down the country, going that extra mile, and it’s the things that, y’nkow, is not part of the training and the things that you’re taught, but it’s the things that come from your heart.”
One nurse shared a story about a patient who was losing his life to COVID, whose wife had remotely requested he sing a Bon Jovi song and hold the patient’s hand. The nurse explains he proceeded to hold the patient’s hand, and play the Bon Jovi song for him.
“That’s what matters so much now,” Kate replied, “the acts of kindness to these patients that you’re looking after, that are in your care that family members aren’t able to be there, but you are going that extra mile.”
One nurse also explains that the most important aspect, to her, is to request that people accept the vaccine when offered it, and hear the positive sides of the vaccine’s work.
“One of the most trusted professions, I think, in Britain, and It’s down to the professionalism, the dedication and the skill. So, to be able to reassure the public is really fantastic.”

We’d agree with a shiny-haired Kate on this one – brave NHS workers deserve our gratitude, medals and more.
