This is because the Duchess of Cambridge will more frequently turn to her mother, Carole Middleton, for “help, advice and guidance” rather than Prince Charles and Camilla, commentator Jennie Bond said. Jennie Bond and Tom Quinn spoke about the Middleton family’s influence on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridges’ children in Channel 5’s ‘When the Middletons Met the Monarchy’.
Mr Quinn claimed it would be ‘entirely wrong’ to assume that the Royal Family will have the biggest impact on the royal children’s upbringing.
He said this is because the Firm is “too formal and stuck in its ways”.
Ms Bond claimed there is “a little tension” within the family over who gets to see the Cambridges’ children.
Prince William and Kate have three children – Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, two.
Mr Quinn said: “I suspect everyone thinks that in terms of the children, the royal family will inevitably have the most influence, but that is entirely wrong.
“It will be the Middletons that have the influence, because the royal family is too formal, it’s too stuck in its ways.”
Ms Bond added: “I suppose there is a little tension at times between who gets to see the grandkids the most.
“Kate will always turn to Carole for help, advice guidance, and just get together and romping around with the kids – possibly before she would get together with Camilla and Charles.”

The royal commentator explained: “Prince William has said, ‘Look I am not always going to be available for the royal family, I have another family and that is Mike and Carole Middleton and that is very important to me and Kate and my children’.”
Kate and William met while attending the University of St Andrews.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl said Carole “knew her daughter was perfect future Queen material”.
Ms Bond added how the Middletons acted “exemplary” when they joined the Royal Family.
She highlighted how they stuck to the Firm’s main royal rule of “discretion” in the face of intense public scrutiny.
The royal commentators’ comments in the new documentary are not the first to have suggested Prince Charles is old fashioned.
Speaking of the Prince of Wales’ succession, royal author Clive Irving, said Prince Charles was “entirely unsuitable” to be the King of England.
The expert compared the Prince of Wales to his “timeless” mother.
Speaking to Australia’s Today Extra, Mr Irving said: “The Queen seems more modern than Charles.
“She’s very much timeless, whereas Charles is an 18th-century figure.”
