Edinburgh has been living under level three restrictions since the beginning of November but that may soon change.
However, the move is not set in stone as Scottish Ministers will make the final decision, with a formal announcement made in the Scottish Parliament, as in previous weeks.
But, if Edinburgh does move from level three to level two restrictions, here’s five things you will be able to do – what will you look forward to most?
Travel to East Lothian
You still wouldn’t be allowed to travel in or out of level three and four areas, which may mean IKEA could still be off the cards (sorry).
However, locals in level two areas area allowed to travel outside of their local authority area, as long as you are not entering an area which has a tier three or four status.
For example, people in Edinburgh would be able to travel to East Lothian and vice versa, if the capital is moved to level two restrictions.
Have a real pint
You can have a real pint with mates, and not just a can of beer from the supermarket – thought it can only be up to six people from two households allowed in pubs, bars, restaurants and cafes.
In level two areas alcohol is permitted in outdoor areas. You can also have an alcoholic drink within indoor areas, so long as it is sold with a “main meal”.
Indoor hospitality venues in Edinburgh, including pubs and restaurants, would be able to stay open until 8pm, rather 6pm. Meanwhile, outdoor spaces would be allowed to stay open until 10.30pm.
Hit a spin class
If you would prefer to head to the gym than the pub, then you’ll be glad to hear that exercise classes and non-contact sports indoors can resume in level two.
This could include a range of your favourite classes, from yoga to spin class, which means you could finally make the most of that gym membership.
In contrast, level three restrictions ban group classes, with only individual exercise allowed.
Watch a film at the cinema
It seems like such a novelty now but you could and watch a film at the cinema level two.

Cinemas are one of two leisure and entertainment venues that would be allowed to reopen in Edinburgh if the local authority moved down to level two.
Get lucky at the bingo
The only other leisure and entertainment venue that is given the green light in level two is the bingo.
If you’ve been fed up and bored in lockdown you might fancy a night at the bingo, who knows you might get lucky.
After all, it is one of the only entertainment spots you can go to, as everything from casinos to comedy clubs must remain closed, even in level two.
