A coach full of ‘covidiots’ have been slammed after they chose to travel to England to watch the Old Firm game on Saturday.
Organised by a local football fan, punters paid £20 per person before driving down from Edinburgh to Carlisle to watch Celtic vs Rangers at Parkhead.
This week, Nicola Sturgeon had directly addressed football fans and had given stark instructions for them not to travel outside of their area to watch the game after pubs and restaurants were closed in the central belt.
Currently, tough coronavirus restrictions are in place in Edinburgh, with over 100 new cases now being reported each day.
However, despite the risk of catching or transmitting the virus, the organiser advertised on Facebook that he would be hiring a coach to go and watch the match, with both Celtic and Rangers fans invited to join him on the bus.
Completely going against the legal restrictions in place, the bus quickly filled up with fans who wished to travel on the coach, with only four seats still available the night before.
Individuals were seen commenting on the post with their requested ticket numbers, as the organiser stated he had been “asked to take temperatures”, however it is not clear whether or not this measure was carried out.
On Saturday morning, the coach left from Edinburgh filled with people who were videoed not wearing masks or social distancing, despite the initial advertisement stating that “masks must be worn”.
The advert had been posted on Facebook
A video posted by the man in charge himself on Facebook also showed the inside of the coach, with other status updates revealing that they had to “stop four times because of fighting” on board.
After arriving in Carlisle, the group watched the match at a premises nearby, before returning to Edinburgh later the same day.
Shortly after posting videos of the bus journey, other Edinburgh locals were quick to slam the group for their “disgusting” behaviour.
One commenter said: “It’s a disgrace, it’s because of idiots…
