Danny Murphy and Martin Keown are in agreement over Thomas Tuchel’s decision to take Callum Hudson-Odoi off in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw at Southampton.
The 20-year-old was introduced at half-time as he replaced Tammy Abraham for the Blues, who were a goal down at the time.
The Saints took the lead through Liverpool loanee Takumi Minamino despite the visitors dominating possession at St. Mary’s.
However, when Hudson-Odoi was brought on, the game changed somewhat and he played a part in Chelsea’s equaliser.
The winger found Mason Mount in the box and the midfielder was brought down by Danny Ings and the Blues were awarded a penalty.
Mount scored from the spot to level the game but Chelsea were unable to find a winner down on the south coast.
Tuchel made a bold decision to take Hudson-Odoi off after just over 30 minutes of him being on the field and put it down to his “attitude” not being right.
